Wine Harvest

How the wine is made, from the field to the glass.

Wine Harvest is the moment when the grape in the vineyard is picked and brought to the cellar to start the vinification, which transforms the must in wine. Behind this important phase, there is a great job to be done which requires knowledge, time and dedication.
The process which lead the grape became wine needs vine variety, floors, good climate conditions and, most of all, right techniques to manage the vineyard which are the same of two thousand years ago, but better controlled by the progress.
The millenary viticultural experience teaches us that grounds too much clayey, wet, calcareous, salty or exploited are not suitable for vines.
Indeed, it is very important to know exactly the mineral and physical composition of the ground that will be used. The ideal area where to build a vineyard is characterized by a mild winter. The perfect period to place a vineyard is in the end of October, in order to facilitate the rooting during the winter and to let the vine face better the vegetative time.
The phase of growing and developing of the vineyard takes 4 years, after that it is ready to be fruitful.

It is a real annual “event” , made up of sharing work and local tradition.
